A relaxed, tropical-luxe restaurant and bar with a curved timber ceiling, a sculpted bar counter, hanging greenery and custom banquettes.
The brief
Hotel dining spaces work harder than almost any other interior: they must feel welcoming at breakfast and atmospheric at night, withstand constant use, and express the hotel's sense of place. For Novotel in Goa, the goal was a relaxed, coastal-tropical mood with a premium finish.
A ceiling that leads the eye
Above the bar, a sweeping curved ceiling in timber slats is suspended on slender brass rods, drawing guests along the counter towards the view. Precision millwork was essential — every slat and rod is aligned so the curve reads cleanly from every angle.
Texture underfoot and around
The bar counter is clad in a sculpted, textured finish that plays against bold patterned cement tiles on the floor. In the dining room, a canopy of hanging greenery softens the ceiling and brings Goa's landscape indoors.
Seating built for service
Curved upholstered banquettes in warm ochre and custom dining chairs were made for comfort over long meals and for the durability that hospitality demands.
